Flies expressing P{Sym-UAS-wtrw.RNAi2} (which carries the wtrwRNAi2.Sym.Scer\UAS and wtrwa.RNAi2.Sym.Scer\UAS alleles) under the control of one of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu or Scer\GAL4wtrw.PL show disrupted hygrosensing behaviour; a higher fraction of flies choose moist air (100% humidity) over dry air (0% humidity) compared to wild-type controls in a hygrosensory behaviour assay after five minutes.
Flies expressing P{Sym-UAS-wtrw.RNAi2} (which carries the wtrwRNAi2.Sym.Scer\UAS and wtrwa.RNAi2.Sym.Scer\UAS alleles) under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu show an impaired electrophysiological response to moist air, while leaving dry air sensing unaffected (recordings were taken at the base of the 2nd antennal segment in these experiments).
