Expression of dsx^UAS.CR under the control of Scer\GAL4^insc-Mz1407 from mid second instar stage, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene, results in a reduced number of neuroblasts in the thoracic segments of the late third instar male larval ventral nerve cord, compared to controls; expression from early first instar stage, results in loss of larval terminal neuroblasts in the late third instar male, unlike controls.
