Drives expression in a subset of gustatory receptor neurons in the labellum, pharynx, and legs.
ScerGAL4Gr66a.PD drives expression in a subset of gustatory receptor neurons in the labellum which do not overlap with those marked by NcraQFIr76b.1.5. The projections of the ScerGAL4Gr66a.PD-positive neurons in the subesophageal ganglion show minimal overlap with projection of neurons labelled by NcraQFIr76b.1.5.
ScerGAL4Gr66a.PD is expressed in 8 to 22 cells of each labial palp, 8 cells of the first leg, 7 cells of the second leg and 6 cells of the third leg.
Adult expression is observed in about 20 cells, including an average of 1.6 cells in the prothoracic leg, 8 in the labial palps and in the labral and cibarial sense organs.
Adult expression is observed in about 30 gustatory sensilla in the prothoracic legs, labral and cibarial sense organs, and laterally through two rows of bristles in the labial palps. Gr66a-expressing neurons project to two distinct regions in the subesophageal gangion via the labial and accessory pharyngeal nerves.
