UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a deleted form of side that lacks the first Ig domain (amino acids 85-192) - the endogenous N-terminus including the signal peptide (amino acids 1-84) is fused in frame to amino acids 193-939. The coding sequence is tagged at the C-terminal end with mCherry.
