ID (Ontology) |
GO:0007200 (Gene Ontology) |
| Definition |
A G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway in which the signal is transmitted via the activation of phospholipase C (PLC) and a subsequent increase in the intracellular concentration of inositol trisphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG). IP3 regulates the opening of calcium channels in intracellular calcium store, leading to the release of calcium into the cytosol. Calcium and DAG activate protein kinase C (PKC), which in turn activates downstream effectors.[ ISBN:0815316194 ] |
