General Information
Term actin rod ID (Ontology) GO:0031002 (Gene Ontology)
Definition A cellular structure consisting of parallel, hexagonally arranged actin tubules, comprising filamentous actin and associated proteins. Actin rod structures are found in diverse organisms, having been observed in spores of Dictyostelium discoideum, Drosophila melanogaster oocytes, as well as in numerous animal cells under stress conditions.[ PubMed:11858703 PubMed:19459188 PubMed:22623727 PubMed:24813767 PubMed:27535426 PubMed:7820870 ]
