General Information
Term RIG-I signaling pathway ID (Ontology) GO:0039529 (Gene Ontology)
Definition The series of molecular signals initiated by the binding ssRNA or dsRNA from another organism to the cytoplasmic pattern recognition receptor (PRR) RIG-1 (also known as DDX58). RIG-I detects RNA synthesized during viral replication or shed by non-viral pathogens, and triggers a signaling pathway to protect the host against infection, for example by inducing the expression of cytokines.[ PubMed:17328678 PubMed:19620789 PubMed:21435580 PubMed:25579795 ]
Also Known As "DDX58 signaling pathway" ; "retinoic acid inducible gene I signaling pathway" ; "RIG-I signalling pathway" (for all, see Synonyms field below)
