General Information
Term single-species biofilm formation in or on host organism ID (Ontology) GO:0044407 (Gene Ontology)
Definition A process in which microorganisms of the same species attach to and grow in or on a host species, and produce extracellular polymers that facilitate attachment and matrix formation, resulting in a change in the microorganisms' growth rate and gene transcription. The host is defined as the larger of the organisms involved in a symbiotic interaction.
