General Information
Term response to hydrostatic pressure ID (Ontology) GO:0051599 (Gene Ontology)
Definition Any process that results in a change in state or activity of a cell or an organism (in terms of movement, secretion, enzyme production, gene expression, etc.) as a result of a hydrostatic pressure stimulus. Hydrostatic pressure is the force acting on an object in a system where the fluid is at rest (as opposed to moving). The weight of the fluid above the object creates pressure on it.
Also Known As "response to static fluid pressure"
