| Term |
2-(3-amino-3-carboxypropyl)histidine synthase complex |
ID (Ontology) |
GO:0120513 (Gene Ontology) |
| Definition |
A protein complex capable of catalysing the transfer of the 3-amino-3-carboxypropyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) to the histidine residue of translation elongation factor 2 (EF2), which is the first step in the biosynthesis of diphthamide. The complex is a Dph2 homodimer in archaea and a Dph1-Dph2 heterodimer in eukaryotes.[ PubMed:24422557 PubMed:31463593 ] |
