Rhino-Deadlock-Cutoff Complex |
ID (Ontology) |
GO:1990469 (Gene Ontology) |
| Definition |
Protein complex found in Drosophila consisting of the gene products of cuff, del and rhi. It regulates the licensing of transcription of dual-strand PIWI interacting RNA (piRNA) source loci by binding to dual-strand-cluster chromatin, probably via the H3K9me3-binding activity of Rhi. Rhi binding brings the putative termination cofactor Cuff in close proximity to the nascent piRNA precursor transcript which it appears to protect from degradation.[ PubMed:24906153 ] |
