General Information
Term myoblast fate commitment involved in skeletal muscle regeneration ID (Ontology) GO:0014836 (Gene Ontology)
Definition The process in which the developmental fate of a satellite cell becomes restricted such that it will develop into a myoblast. This occurs as part of skeletal muscle regeneration. A myoblast is a mononucleate cell type that, by fusion with other myoblasts, gives rise to the myotubes that eventually develop into skeletal muscle fibers.[ PubMed:16607119 ]
