Eyes are protruding and bulging, and are placed far back on a narrow head. Facets are very large in rough areas of the eye. Wings are smaller than normal with fringed marginal hairs; dusky; pebbly appearance caused by large cells. Bristles are coarse and irregular. Hairs are sparse and irregular, especially on the abdomen. Body small in late counts. Viability is 20% of wild-type. Females are usually sterile, males are usually fertile. RK3.
