5-day old mxte00436/Df(2L)Exel6010 females produce approximately 80% as many eggs as controls, but the difference becomes more pronounced as the females age (mutant females laying only approximately 25% as many eggs as controls at 20 days old). The germaria of 21-day old mxte00436/Df(2L)Exel6010 females contain fewer germline cells than wild-type controls.
