      80% of flies expressing IA-2dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Kr.PU fail to eclose. Eyes and wings are present but the flies do not complete development. On removal from the pupal case, the flies are covered with a thin film-like layer rather than hard cuticle and almost no abdominal structures are seen.
