Wild-type Hsp22 eluted as a single peak of 790kD, mutant R109G had an estimated mass of 763kD and mutant R110G had an estimated mass of 680kD. The estimated mass of double mutant R109G,R110G was 369kD or 424kD depending on concentration.

Wild-type Hsp22 runs as a single band at 720kD. Hsp22 mutants, R109G and R105G, run as single bands slightly smaller than wild-type. Hsp22 mutants, R110G and R109GR11G, do not form a single band on a native gel.
