I have new supporting evidence or functional assignment for gene CG7075.
Comments: This gene's product has been the subject of the Ph.D. thesis of Dora
Bigler (1994) at the University of Zürich. By developmental Northern
blotting, the gene is expressed only in the testes. Using antibodies prepared
against a peptide from the predicted sequence, she showed that the protein
appears to be localized to the nucleus in premeiotic spermatocytes, then in
the nebenkern and mitochondrial derivatives of postmeiotic spermatocytes. No
mutants have yet been identified.
