Comments: We have isolated 5 homozygous lethal P element insertions into
CG18176.
Lethal period varies between alleles and includes both larvae and pupae.
Mutant larvae become sluggish and appear developmentally retarded. Pupal
lethality is associated with severe defects in abdominal formation. We have
named this gene 'deflated' (abbrev. defl) to reflect the pupal phenotype.
