Nucleotide substitution: G?A. Mutation is in the 5' splicing consensus of the first intron.
Adult survivors transheterozygotes with RpL15PΔ2 or RpL15PΔ8 are sterile with underdeveloped gonads and show reduced body size, small and thin bristles, rough and/or reduced eyes, misrotated genitalia (males) and wing, wing vein and wing hair phenotypes. Reducing the growth temperature to 22oC (as compared to 25oC) increases the incidence of survivors. Sex ratios are also skewed in favour of males in the survivors.
In(3L)C90/+, RpL153 has wing margin | posterior | female phenotype, enhanceable by Su(var)2051
In(3L)C90/+, RpL153 has wing margin | posterior | female phenotype
13% of RpL153/In(3L)C90 females have a mutant posterior wing margin phenotype. The penetrance of this phenotype is increased to 81% if the females are also carrying Su(var)2051/+.
