TigA1/Df(2L)BSC185 transheterozygous wandering third instar larvae move at significantly lower speed in crawling assays, as compared to controls.
TigA1 heterozygous wandering third instar larvae do not present significant increases in the number of muscle detachments and in the hemisegmental gap between dorsal oblique muscles 1 and 2, as compared to controls.
Semi-lethal in combination with Tigx. Adult Tigx/TigA1 escapers have elongated, misshapen abdomens and have wing defects. Adult homozygous escapers have wing defects. Homozygous pupae are 16% longer than wild-type pupae. Pupation, defined by the appearance of a gas bubble in the abdomen, occurs, but dispersion of the bubble and head eversion fail to occur in about half the pupae. Muscle contraction waves that pass from the posterior to the anterior are much slower in homozygous third instar larvae than in wild-type larvae. Homozygous larvae have severe muscle defects.
