The N terminal signalling portion of hh (aa 1-256) are joined via three Tag:HA tags to the juxtamembrane and transmembrane portions of sev joined to the N terminus of full length ptc.

      Overexpression of ptchh-ptc.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1, under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in the absence of ganglionic branch extension into the ventral nerve cord, along with defects in the dorsal branch, elongation and in dorsal trunk thickness and convolution are also observed. In addition, the visceral branches are very often misplaced, localising more ventrally than in the wild-type.

      Overexpression of ptchh-ptc.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 in all tracheal cells, under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS, does not induce a significant tracheal phenotype.
