Most eggs laid by mubScer\UAS.cGa overexpression (under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16) females are cup shaped with open-ended chorions, as the anterior end of the eggshell fails to be closed. In the cup-shaped eggs, the two dorsal appendages are missing, are fused but widely expanded, or form either a blob-like structure located at a lower position of the eggshells or a single dorsal appendage.
