UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
In third instar larvae expressing pdm3HMJ21205 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu a significant proportion of axons from vtd1 neurons of abdominal segments 4-6 contact the midline and collapse in the subesophageal ganglion (SEG). Their initial projections along the lateral tract, followed by a dorsomedial turn in the metathoracic segment and an anterior extension parallel to the midline towards the SEG are similar to wild-type controls. The length of the ventral nerve cord is similar to wild-type controls.
