      Expression of Hsap\MAPTC2H.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU has little effect on longevity when the flies are raised on standard food, but lifespan is shortened when food is supplemented with ZnCl[[2]]. The number of vacuoles seen in the brains of these flies is also exacerbated by feeding the flies zinc.
