Some males produce a small number of progeny (average 1.1 progeny/male). Male sterile in combination with Ts(1Lt;YLt)V8 or Ts(1Lt;YLt)W19. Male fertile in combination with Ts(1Lt;YSt)V24, Ts(1Lt;YSt)W27, Ts(1Lt;YSt)E15 or Ts(1Lt;YSt)F12. ks-215 testes show degradation in the basal testicular region. Sperm are absent from the seminal vesicles. Early postmeiotic defects are seen; the 64 elongated spermatid nuclei in a cyst are scattered throughout the basal third of the testis.
Male sterile phenotype can be reverted in the presence of a transposase source.
