Description
What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release. It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
Scer\GAL4how-24B mediated expression causes some lethality during embryonic, larval and pupal development. A limited number survive to adulthood and have severe defects in their ability to fly. Scer\GAL4how-24B mediated expression causes myoblast fusion and elongation. Cardial cells are transformed into somatic muscle and the pattern of somatic muscle fibres is changed.

Co-expression of kn[Scer\UAS.cVa] and nau[Scer\UAS.cKa] using Scer\GAL4[how-24B] results in an ectopic DA3 muscle in thoracic segment 1 with very few nuclei (2-3).

Comments
Expression of nauScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B rescues the sterility of Df(3R)nau-11a4/Df(3R)nau-9 females. Rescue of the nau mutant phenotype is not complete; survival rates of the progeny of these females are 50% in larvae, 47% in pupae and 44% in adults.
Df(3R)nau-11a4/Df(3R)nau-9 embryos lack subset of muscle fibres, including the dorsal oblique, dorsal acute and lateral longitudinal muscles. Df(3R)nau-11a4/Df(3R)nau-9 embryos expressing nauScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B do not show significant absence of these muscle fibres.
