leg & adult cuticle, with Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1

leg & adult cuticle | somatic clone, with Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Expression of oddScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in deep creases in the leg cuticle that extend along the anterior-posterior axis of the leg and resemble ectopic joint-like structures. Expression of oddScer\UAS.cHa in clones in the leg under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI results in an indentation in the cuticle, which may occur anywhere along the proximodistal axis of the leg. In some cases a crease in the cuticle is induced around the clone, while in others, all the cells of the clone appear to invaginate and form an indentation in the cuticle. These clones never induce leg tissue outgrowths. Cells in the pretarsal epithelium at the tip of the late third instar leg disc that are expressing oddScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 appear to invaginate, resulting in an indentation in the epithelium. This is in contrast to control discs, where the pretarsal epithelium forms a flat sheet at the same stage.
