UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
The expression of FsGD15843 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1624 during adulthood (under the additional control of Gal80{ts]) induces a progressive decrease in the number, or even absence, of hub cells in the testes; in those testes where hub cells are absent, both stem cell populations are lost, and only differentiated spermatids can be found.
