UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
The expression of lilliHMS01066 under the control of Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407 (two copies of both lilliHMS01066 and Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407, to achieve efficient RNAi) or Scer\GAL4pnt-14-94 leads to a decrease in the number of type II neuroblasts per third instar larval brain lobe, as compared to controls; the neuroblasts resulting from the Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407-driven expression exhibit normal cortical polarity, as compared to controls; expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ase.neuro or Scer\GAL4pnt-14-94 does not lead to significant changes in the number of type I neuroblasts, as compared to controls.
