Reference

Homozygous Caf1p55-1 mutants are lethal before pupariation. Larvae are 1-2 days developmentally delayed compared to wild type and the body size is greatly reduced. Some mutant larvae survive for up to 6-8 days, but they never undergo pupariation.

Caf1p55-1/Caf1p55-2 mutants are 1-2 days developmentally delayed compared to wild type and the body size is greatly reduced. Some mutant larvae survive for up to 6-8 days, but larvae never undergo pupariation.

Homozygous mutant Caf1p55-1 germline stem cell clones in females are lost more quickly than in controls. TUNEL staining shows that this is due to differentiation rather than apoptosis.An increased number of homozygous mutant Caf1p55-1 follicle clones undergo cell death compared to controls.

Caf1p55-1 mutant clones in larval wing and eye discs are significantly smaller than wild type controls.

One copy of Caf1p55-1 is unable to suppress the variegation seen in In(1)wm4h/+.
