Unlike controls, the expression of Non1^HMS05872 under the control of Scer\GAL4^nos.PG leads to ovaries with 'stem cysts' proximal to the self-renewal niche, where cells are interlinked by fusome-like structures, and lacking spectrosome-containing cells; some ovaries lack germline cells.
