Genetic mapping information
Comments

The 3C inversion breakpoint is located 20kb upstream of rst. The 5A breakpoint maps to the intergenic region between Vsx1 and Vsx2, 2.7kb upstream of Vsx1. Expression of Vsx1 in the center of the outer proliferation center is completely lost in the inversion chromosome (presumably due to the inversion of Vsx1 cis-regulatory sequences distal to the 5A breakpoint) and in addition, the inversion places the rst eye enhancer upstream of Vsx1, resulting in ectopic expression of Vsx1 posterior to the morphogenetic furrow in the eye disc.

The In(1)Mud breakpoints were roughly mapped and reported to extend from 20kb upstream of rst to 2kb upstream of Vsx1.

Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In these cases, there will be no "Export to Hitlist" button to the left.
