Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In these cases, there will be no "Export to Hitlist" button to the left.
    Phenotypic Data
    In combination with other aberrations

Fully viable in transheterozygous combination with In(3R)karH4. Shows reduced viability in transheterozygous combination with Df(3R)kar-H9, Df(3R)kar-H11, Df(3R)kar-H12 or In(3R)karH6. Lethal in transheterozygous combination with Df(3R)kar-H14, Df(3R)kar-H5, Df(3R)kar-H1, Df(3R)kar-H13, Df(3R)kar-H2, Df(3R)kar-H10 or Df(3R)kar-H3.

    In(3R)karD/In(3R)karH4 viable

NOT in combination with other aberrations

Heterozygotes have mottled ocelli, with some retinal cells appearing fully pigmented. This phenotype is suppressed by the addition of a Y chromosome, indicating a position effect phenotype Homozygotes have reduced viability. Imagos often do not eclose and surviving males are sterile. Eye colour varies from orange to brown.

karD/+ flies exhibit bright red eyes characteristic of kar homozygotes; ocelli not completely colorless; seem to variegate, Addition of an extra Y chromosome to karD/+ shifts the phenotype toward wild type. Homozygotes show reduced viability.
