Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion has resulted in a 2.3kb deletion downstream of the original insertion site. This deletion removes the entire Ilp6 5' untranslated region. Since the original insertion is downstream of a putative exon of the neighbouring phl gene, it also removes this putative phl exon.
