The 5' and 3' flanking sequences of the P{EPgy2}Pmp70^EY09231 insertion map 11.1kb apart on the same strand; the 5' flank maps within Pmp70, the 3' flank maps within CG12702. These results are consistent with either two insertions, one at each of these two sites, or a single insertion associated with a deletion. The sequence of the 3' P element end is missing the last nucleotide, whereas the 5' P element end is complete. The sequence traces look pretty clean (i.e. not two different sequences superimposed), supporting the alternative of a single insertion associated with a deletion, but this is not definitive.
