Description

Amino acid replacement: P214S.

3 unique mutations in the untranslated regions: deletion of base G at position 580-581, single site mutation at position 1700-1701 and single base substitution at position 886. A nucleotide deletion in the adult intron and at the same site in one of the larval enhancer regions in the 5' flanking region is an insertion of 5 nucleotides associated with a single base deletion creating a palindromic structure. Amino acid replacement: K192T. Amino acid replacement: P214S.

In common with several other natural population alleles the sequence includes the triplet TCC at nucleotide positions 1555-1557.

Amino acid replacement: K192T. Amino acid replacement: P214S.

pI of protein: 6.4. Unlike AdhF, will oxidize dihydroorotic acid to orotic acid and sarcosine to glycine.

The ability of Adh71k enzyme to oxidise aldehydes has been studied.

Adh71k encodes a thermostable multifunctional allozyme.
