Description

Amino acid replacement: P214S.

Amino acid replacement: K192T. Amino acid replacement: P214S.

In addition to the K192T substitution, AdhF-ChD differs from AdhF by a synonymous mutation at nucleotide 816 (the T is characteristic of Slow alleles), insertion of a homopolymer repeat of 17 adenines, deletion of the 37bp length polymorphism at nucleotide 550-551 and a single site substitution at base 516 to a characteristic Slow nucleotide.

Nucleotide substitution: C1555T.

Amino acid replacement: K192T.

pI of protein: 6.4 More thermostable than AdhF or AdhS.

Amino acid replacement K192T alters protein concentration so it is similar to Slow protein levels. Amino acid replacement P214S gives thermostable substrate specificities and kinetic parameters similar to the Slow proteins.

AdhF-ChD was detected in 4 Chinese populations.
