Based on the breakpoints of In(3R)Hu, the mutation in AntpHu appears to be a regulatory mutation caused by the 84B inversion breakpoint that lies approximately 50kb away from the Antp transcription unit. The 5' end of this breakpoint corresponds to 3R:7048580 and the 3' end corresponds to 3R:7048586 (release 6 coordinates), meaning that 5bp of genomic sequence are deleted, in addition to the inversion.
Proximal inversion breakpoint is at map position +255.
Transformation of sternopleural bristles on the propleura to mesopleural identity.
Extra bristles on humerus. Homozygous viable.
Extra humeral bristles.
Extra bristles on humeral patches of heterozygote. Humeral bristles more numerous in homozygote with a streak of hairs below humerus toward base of first leg. Homozygous viability 90% wild type. RK2A as heterozygote.
