RK2. Adults have a narrow abdomen, ending in a berry-like protrusion carrying defective genitalia. Wings are opaque, with areas of deranged hairs. The inner wing margin may appear cut, and longitudinal wing veins may be interrupted or positioned abnormally. The anterior scutellar bristles are often acutely bent, and the eyes are occasionally misshapen. Male viability is approximately 40% of wild-type.
