A strong open ended chorion phenotype: the first tier of nurse cells is usually enclosed by the columnar follicle cells.
Late oogenesis phenotype. Follicle cells do not migrate centripetally between nurse cells and oocyte. They do synthesize a chorion which remains open ended (like a chalice, or cup). Such eggs are usually not laid and remain unfertilized.
