nurse cell & chromatin
Egg chambers arrest at stage S10. The oldest egg chambers contain condensed oligotene nurse cell nuclear chromatin with high ploidy.
Mostly normal eggs and 10% normal embryos.
cup32 has egg chamber phenotype, suppressible by otu11
Homozygous females show a strong phenotypic improvement if they also carry one copy of otu11, allowing egg chamber growth to a later developmental stage with more uniform chromatin morphologies, although they are still sterile. 80% of egg chambers in these females are dicephalic.
