Darkened cuticle, lighter than ebony, with a slightly reduced viability, reduced fecundity and curled or blistered wings. Homozygous males die as pharate adults.
Females have dark bodies. Homozygous males die during the late pupal stage. Rare male escapers are dark bodied and can reproduce.
Body colour: darker than normal. Male rarely survives, dies in late pupal stage as pharate imago. Female weakly fertile. RK2.
