Ddcts2/Ddc7 adults raised at 18[o]C and then transferred to 25[o]C 4 days prior to infection show no difference in survival rates after infection with either E. coli or S. aureus compared to the survival rates of wild-type controls.

Larvae, unable to hatch from egg, are very active and have unpigmented (and perhaps incompletely sclerotinized) mouthparts and denticles.

Ddcts1 heterozygotes with Ddc null alleles show temperature-dependent sterility.

Ddc7/Df(2L)TW130 dies at the end of embryogenesis, unable to hatch fom the vitelline membrane, though muscle contractions are clearly evident. No morphological abnormalities are visible except that the cephalopharyngeal apparatus and setae remain unpigmented.

Specific DDC activity of newly eclosed adult CyO/Ddc heterozygotes, as percentage of CyO/+ control: 43.1
