      Flies have extremely fine, short bristles. Body parts are disproportionately reduced; the reduction is least marked in the head and most marked in the abdomen. The wings are broader than normal and slightly rounded at the tips and occasionally have incisions of the margin. Eye colour: slightly brighter red than normal. Males are viable but sterile.
