      Homozygous females retain mature eggs.

      (Wieschaus et al., 1981)

      females produce few if any eggs. temperature-sensitive. Adults normal but females retain eggs; partially fertile at 16oC. Clones of homozygous germinal cells in heterozygous female produce oviposited eggs (Wieschaus, Audit and Masson, 1981).
