Mature follicles of homozygous females have major defects in the endochorion (the defects are seen only in some areas of the eggshell) and have defective respiratory appendages.
Females lay morphologically abnormal eggs that fail to hatch, and show various defects in respiratory appendages and chorionic architecture.
