Viability of homozygotes normal male-fertile female-sterile As originally described by Hochman, ovaries morphologically normal; females can be inseminated and can oviposit, but eggs fail to develop. In subsequent work, King and Buckles (FBrf0034478) report altered phenotype with oogenesis arrested in the germarium, where there are large numbers of oogonia not organized into cysts anteriorly and a solid plug of profollicle cells posteriorly.
