Imaginal discs overgrow in the larva.
Lethal shortly after pupation. Imaginal discs are two to four times normal size. They usually exhibit abnormal shapes and folding patterns. The discs have incomplete differentiation capacities. Metamorphosed test-pieces exhibit hair patterns; single bristles are occasionally seen, often only naked cuticle forms.
