      Flies are attracted to sodium chloride (NaCl), but show greatly reduced attraction to all sugars in a feeding preference test.

      Taste mutant that affects the fly's responses to attractants and repellents. Attracted to sodium chloride (NaCl) but not to potassium chloride (KCl), and shows reduced attraction to all sugars.
