Adult flies are stress sensitive. Adults show temperature-sensitive lethality; they die 6-11 days after eclosion at 29oC. There is also a temperature-sensitive semi-lethal period during preimaginal development.
temperature-sensitive semi-lethal temperature-sensitive stress sensitive female sterile adults die 6-11 days after eclosion at 29oC.
The female sterility and stress sensitivity phenotypes have not been genetically localised, and could therefore be due to a second-site mutation.
